Handmade Greeting And Graduation Cards

The Juried Art process that we know today was morphed over thousands of years, with its roots deep in the great civilizations of Ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome. The medium du jour was focused on sculpture, architecture and, to a lesser degree, painting. A tincture of time would provide for the development of a sophisticated process that would eventually create an atmosphere for inclusion and exclusion of art works and even the artists that created them. The system would create an aura of reputation that artists would come to depend on to generate sales and justify prices they would garner from sales resulting from the exhibitions.

Is Gigi Goyette Arnold Schwarzeneggers Mistress #2?

Former child actress Gigi Goyette is claiming she too had an affair with Arnold Schwarzenegger while he was married to Maria Shriver. Oh yeah the plot thickens my friends and it is looking like someone is finding himself in some deep you know what. Is there any truth to this chick’s claims, well she has hired the one and only Gloria Allred so I am thinking there must be some sort of truth to her claims. After all Gloria is the go to lawyer for former lovers of celebs who now find themselves in the midst of a scandal. E! online is reporting that Gigi and Arnold had an intimate relationship back in 1975 when he was body building and she was a 16-year old actress. Then for whatever reason the two parted ways until resuming their relationship again in 1988. That is right my friends three years after Schwarzenegger got hitched to Shriver. As for what Goyette wants or why she is coming forward now we don’t know yet and for once Allred is keeping her mouth shut. I highly doubt that will happen for much longer though. I have a feeling that we might just have another Tiger [...]

Yikes!!! You do NOT want to get on the bad side of Steven Spielberg!
Megan Fox did just that when she insulted her Transformers director Michael Bay by comparing him to Hitler. When Spielberg heard about the remark, he demanded that Fox was fired from the Transformers franchise.

Arts and Entertainment from EzineArticles.com

Reading scripts can be a great way for aspiring writers to get a good sense of story and character. Providing analyses of other writer's scripts can help and reader know what studios and production companies are looking for in scripts, which can only serve to strengthen their own projects. To earn extra money on the side of assistant duties, I frequently dove into script reading for various production companies and agencies.

To Be Perfectly Frank

With that said, I am going to have to go with another East Coast artist for this month's choice of best hip-hop album of 2011 and I am going to chalk it up to a resurgence of outstanding rappers from the East and the fact that the West has simply gotten lazy with the beats and rhymes. Just the cycle of things I suppose.

Last month we got our first look at hottie actor Jake Gyllenhaal rockin’ a completely shaved head on the set of his new film End of Watch and today we learn that he has grown some of that hair back. Jake was spotted leaving the gym here in SoCal and as you can see in the photos below, his completely bald head is now all fuzzy.

Fuzzy head, fuzzy beard … is there any look that Jake can’t make totally hot? Even the baggy sweat pants … hot. To be honest, it’s the smile that really makes his hotness shine. He’s a cutie pie … always.

Lauryn Hill Pays Homage To Her Father In Law

And she did him justice, we think!
Last night, it was Lauryn Hill's turn to pay tribute to Bob Marley on Jimmy Fallon's week-long event to commemorate the 30th anniversary of legendary Jamaican singer's death. As a member of the singer's family (she's married to Rohan Marley, Bob Marley’s fourth eldest son) it only seemed right [...]

majority support for gay marriage

YES!!!!

According to a new National Gallup Poll, the majority of Americans now support marriage equality!!!!!!

More from the Gallup report:

"For the first time in Gallup's tracking of the issue, a majority of Americans (53%) believe same-sex marriage should be recognized by the law as valid, with the same rights as traditional marriages. The increase since last year came exclusively among political independents and Democrats. Republicans' views did not change."

SUCH fantastic news!!! So great to see that the country is headed in the right direction!

…Now if only we could get those Republicans to change their views…

Types of Guitars Available For Purchase Online

The song "Mystery Train" has become one of the most iconic classics of the rockabilly genre and in fact of all rock and roll. The song has it all: a great, mood-invoking vibe, wonderful driving slap-bass work by Bill Black, one of the most perfect guitar parts ever recorded courtesy of Scotty Moore, and of course Elvis' flawless, raw, powerful vocal delivery. And the song itself is one of those rare gems that stands strong on its own, separate from the performance. But though Elvis and the boys own this song with their amazing performance of it, Elvis didn't write it. So, where did it come from? Well, that gets to the roots of rockabilly!

Wedding Bands 5 Tips You Must Follow

Guitars are a musical instrument from the string family. For over a thousand years, guitars have helped to bring new elements to music, shape new genres, and uniquely express the player. Usually, guitars have six strings which are plucked while notes are formed by finger placements on the neck of the instrument. Variations of guitars include Classical & Nylon String Guitars, Acoustic Guitars, Acoustic-Electric Guitars, and Electric Guitars.

Creating Music Is For Everyone

I've often said that there's something about rockabilly music. Something that just makes you feel good. It makes you want to move when you hear it. It picks you up and makes you smile. But as often as I've said that, I'm not sure I've ever been able to successfully describe what that "something" is. What is it that makes rockabilly so wonderful? It's an indefinable essence that seeps into your soul and lifts your spirits.

The weather has cooled down considerably here in LA and the rain has begun to fall. In fact, the rain started to fall last night so I think we are moving into the “June Gloom” season earlier than expected :( David and I got to hang out with Emma and Josh last night as they housesat for friends and basically just spent the night catching up and eating take-out. ‘Twas a quiet night here in SoCal … but quiet nights with friends are the best nights ever.

Emma is the proud owner of a new white iPhone 4 from Verizon, an early birthday present from her fiancée Josh so we spent some time playing with her new phone. With her birthday coming up this week, we had some planning to do as well so we just had a really nice night together. The chilly weather today will ensure that David and I stay indoors for as long as we can … but tonight, we venture out to Pomona, CA to see Lauryn Hill in concert. I’ve been a Lauryn Hill fan for years … long before she kinda went crazy. I’ve always wanted to see her in concert so I’m really excited for tonight’s show. I hope your Tuesday is going well … and that it is warm and sunny where you are ;)

Survivor: Redemption Island Finale Preview, Who Will Be The Winner? Tonight is the big night! The series finale of Survivor: Redemption Island. We have seen the last 35 days how The Game has evolved, especially with the new twist of Redemption Island, giving those booted off from their tribes a second chance at getting back in The Game. In tonight′s 2-hour finale, we will see how the last four of 39 days are played out. Which one of those on Redemption Island will succeed in returning? More importantly, who will win the $1 Million grand prize and the bragging rights of being the sole survivor? I suppose if one had o pick likely candidates to be the Survivor: Redemption Island winner, two names would top the list, ′Boston′ Rob Mariano and Matt Elrod. Especially since my favorite Survivor, Russell Hantz, was booted from The Game long ago. Mariano has been playing an expert social game in true ‘Rob-father’ style. He has controlled and manipulated his tribe mates from Day One. Everybody who has been voted off from either the Ometepe or Murlonio Tribes has been so at the hands of Rob. Nothing has happened without his approval and consent. The [...]

A few weeks ago, I finally finished reading the final book of The Hunger Games trilogy … Mockingjay. Because David and I were traveling and then a host of other things distracted me, I never got the chance to blog about the book. Now that all of the tributes have been cast for the upcoming Hunger Games film, I’m really getting anxious to see the story brought to life on the big screen. Read on for some of my (possibly spoilery) thoughts on the final book of the Hunger Games trilogy.

To be honest, I kinda had a feeling that the final book was not going to end on a happy note. Considering the way that Catching Fire ended, it was plainly obvious that the final book was going to be war-centric. I can understand why some fans feel that Mockingjay is the worst of the 3 books but I honestly loved it … and felt that, in the end, the trilogy stands as an excellent series of books. My guess is that the folks who do not care for Mockingjay take great issue with the fact that the book did not end happily. I can think of one death in particular that prolly angered a great many fans. Because that death took such an innocent character, it makes sense that there would be anger. Mockingjay makes the excellent point, tho, that War is Hell. Death can strike anyone … and even the people who you thought were the good guys sometimes do bad things. I can only judge Mockingjay in context with the two previous books … and as a trilogy, I loved The Hunger Games. I’m not going to lie tho … I did have strong feelings when I finished the book. I was obviously sad and angry … but any book that can make me feel that way has to be a damn good book. I am really curious to see how these tales will be told on the big screen. The first film will really give us a good idea of how well the books will be represented on the screen.

I’m curious … can those of you who have strong feelings — either good or bad — about the final book chime in? I’d love to hear what other people think of the book.

It’s Friday and time for the weekend. My dear friend Monique is visiting LA this weekend from Hong Kong and we are going with my friend Eileen to see Prince at The Forum. Yes, I know … more Prince? Yep. As I said, I will see him as many times as I can while he is still playing here. It’s so crazy to get to see one of your fave musicians over and over and over and for such a small price. Let the weekend commence!!

Still won't compare to the original, but we think the kiddies are all going to like this one!

Viral Swiss Jetman Video Shows Wild Grand Canyon Ride (WATCH)

A guy nicknamed the Swiss Jetman can be seen rocketing across the Grand Canyon in a viral Youtube video that would make Evel Knievel proud. Finally, the world of Internet Memes gets a break from the savage beat downs and lightning strikes that we’ve grown accustomed to. I mean, how many times can you watch someone get beaten until they break out into a seizure? Shew. So, today I came across an awesome video of a crazy Swiss guy named Yves Rossy who has a contraption he straps to his back that looks like an advanced jet pack. This thing is capable of propelling him at speeds upwards of 200MPH, and he’s not afraid to push it to the limit (queue music). So far the video has nearly 500,000 views, which I expect will double by the end of the week. It is absolutely nuts. He basically jumps out of a helicopter high above the canyon, then drops like a rock. After a few seconds he fires up the jets and takes off like Iron Man, leaving thick contrails behind him like a mini-jet liner. He zooms around for a while before slowing down to pull a parachute. Bahati Gay Death Penalty

This is not good, Uganda.

While we were expecting to hear that the death penalty had been stripped from the anti-homosexuality bill in at least a small step in the right direction, we're hearing that that isn't the case anymore:

According to the report, MP David Bahati, author of the legislation that was first introduced in October 2009, reportedly told the committee that the death penalty could be stripped from the bill. The committee, however, decided to keep the death penalty, by rewording the provision to match the current penal code making "aggravated defilement" punishable by death.

The Ugandan Parliament's Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee will recommend the version of the Anti-Homosexuality bill that retains the death penalty for acts of "aggravated homosexuality."

The committee's report does remove some provisions, but adds criminal penalties for "conducting a marriage ceremony between persons of the same sex."

The bill has been publicly condemned by our State Department and other countries abroad. And of course, we don't support it either. Even if the harshest punishments are removed, the bill itself still remains discriminatory.

Bahati argues that everything is done with the Democratic process, so there can't be anything wrong with it.

Making people fear that their human rights could be viewed as illegal and punishable by death seems like there is everything wrong with it.

We hope there are changes coming for Uganda. They deserve to be whoever they were born to be.

Equality for all!
